10. Ari Aster's Four Hour Nightmare Comedy
After the major success of Midsommer in 2019, Ari Aster has become the new face of horror. His fans eagerly await his next project that will once again redefine what the genre is capable of. However, Aster’s response to a new project was very polarizing with many unsure over whether he is telling the truth, or just trolling his audience.
Aster has revealed many times during interviews post-release of Midsommar that after making two very serious horror films, he’s going to be taking a crack at a horror-comedy, and it’s going to be four hours long.
Whilst Aster’s last movies are quite lengthy in their own right, with Midsommar clocking in at two hours forty minutes, four hours seems far too long for a horror-comedy. Many fans are vocally skeptical because, although there have been quite a few hits in the genre, Aster has no experience in making a comedy feature.
Regardless of the length and the fact that Aster has never made a comedy before, there are still people who believe that he’ll be able to pull it off where others have failed. Some other people, however, say that Aster’s just trolling and intends to subvert our expectations.
