10 Upcoming Horror Movie Rumours You Need To Know
7. An Eighth Tremors Movie
Tremors has bizarrely become one of the longest running horror franchises to this day: the first movie was released in 1990 and the most recent entry – Tremors: Shrieker Island – was released direct to video on the 20th October, 2020. That being said, Michael Gross, who's portrayed military man Burt Gummer since the very first movie, has hinted at the continuation of the franchise despite his character perishing at the end of Shrieker Island.
In an interview with Boo Crew Podcast, Gross said “The door is still open for an eighth Tremors. It may seem unlikely by what people see on the screen, but it is possible. There could be an eighth. And if there were, and if it were an interesting story, I would be up for it because Burt is always a great deal of fun.”
However, Gross also said in the very same interview that the debate of another sequel will depend upon the response of Shrieker Island, so it’s up in the air over whether or not an eighth Tremors movie will be made. Its still very early days, but its good to know that Gummer is willing to keep the franchise going.
