10 Upcoming Horror Movies That Might Save Franchises
2. Final Destination Bloodlines

Though Final Destination 5 quite brilliantly brought the series to something of a circuitous conclusion, it's nevertheless hugely surprising that the franchise has remained dormant since 2011.
Between the box office success of the fifth film and the ease with which a Final Destination TV series could probably have been sold to a streaming service, the franchise's lengthy quiet period feels like an anomaly in the pantheon of successful horror IP. But it's finally due to return this coming May with the sixth movie, Final Destination Bloodlines, which appears to be something of a soft reboot for the series, albeit while retaining the elaborate, gory kill sequences fans have come to expect.
As groan-inducing as the wildly overused "Bloodlines" title is, the first trailer certainly suggests that talented filmmakers Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein have the chops to deliver tense, amusingly over-the-top death scenes.
Considering the enduring popularity of the franchise and how endlessly repeatable its central concept is, don't be shocked if Bloodlines is a box office smash that leads to a glut of new Final Destination sequels over the next decade.
