10 Upcoming Horror Movies With INCREDIBLE Plots

Weapons is the new film from Barbarian director Zach Cregger, which alone is enough to leave many excited, but from what little we know about the story so far, it sure sounds like a huge step up from the filmmaker's audacious debut.

The picture has been described as a "horror epic" in the vein of Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia, centered around a number of interconnecting narratives in a small Florida community - namely the disappearance of school children in the middle of the night, corrupt cops, generational trauma, witchcraft, blood rituals, and religious abuse.

Cregger sure seems to be putting his Barbarian cred to good use by doing something incredibly ambitious here, even if the wider specifics of the plot are still under wraps.

It's a plenty tantalising tease of what's to come, though, and if that's not intriguing enough, the cast is absolutely stacked, counting the likes of Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, Amy Madigan, and Austin Abrams among its roster.
