10 Upcoming Movie Adaptations That Prove There Is No God

6. Mortal Kombat

Street Fighter, adapted from another legendary Capcom game, is certainly a candidate for "Worst Video Game Movie Adaptation Of All Time", although it has plenty of competition, not least the risible version of Dead or Alive. But the Mortal Kombat movies come pretty damn close to the same levels of awfulness. Quite why we need to see another one in cinemas is beyond most people's ability to fathom - except, of course, movie studio's desire for cold, hard cash earned with very little effort. New Line Cinema are up for the "challenge" of remaking the movie adaptation of the video game in which the greatest fighters from around the world gather to beat the living crap out of one another for no reason other than to satisfy the few remaining fans of a gaming franchise that's been waning since the 1990s. Fortunately, the director attached to the project, Kevin Tancharoen, dropped out of production in October 2013 - perhaps there is a god, after all, and yet another pointless adaptation will slide into development hell where it really belongs.
