Given that any new Star Wars movie is basically the hottest ticket in Hollywood, it's little surprise that just about everybody wants to get in on the action, with the sequel trilogy movies cramming in a ton of sneaky cameos.

The Force Awakens memorably cast Daniel Craig as a Stormtrooper, while Tom Hardy had the same honour for The Last Jedi, though his part was sadly ultimately cut.

The tradition of casting massively high-profile talents as Stormtroopers hidden in plain sight is apparently set to continue in The Rise of Skywalker, then, with Ed Sheeran, Stephen Colbert and Jamie Oliver said to have filmed under-the-helmet roles.

Considering how distracting and jarring Sheeran's in-your-face cameo was in Game of Thrones' seventh season, keeping his face concealed is most certainly for the best.

As for Colbert, he will earn the rare distinction of having appeared in both The Hobbit and the Star Wars franchises, having previously appeared as a Lake-town spy in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Nice.
