10 Upcoming Movie Reboots That Might Actually Work
7. Dungeons & Dragons
The currently-shooting Dungeons & Dragons reboot has a huge advantage working in its favour, because the original 2000 blockbuster adaptation and its two direct-to-video sequels were so thoroughly panned by critics that there's really no way but up.
This new adaptation of the beloved role-playing game will seemingly adopt a more lighthearted tone than the 2000 film, with writer-directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Game Night) at the helm.
Better still, the script has attracted a bevy of name actors, with Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez leading an ensemble cast also including Justice Smith, Regé-Jean Page, Hugh Grant, and Sophia Lillis.
Though various attempts have been made to resurrect D&D over the last decade, it wasn't until last year that something truly stuck, and hopefully that's because it's the vision with the potential to build a viable franchise out of the legendary tabletop RPG.
No plot information is available yet - we're guessing it might be a meta take on the IP ala Jumanji - but it's currently pencilled in to release on March 3, 2023.
