10 Upcoming Movie Sequels That Are Really Reboots

The last Saw movie hit cinemas back in 2010 and basically tied the franchise off in fairly neat fashion, but after giving the series a few years of rest, Lionsgate has decided to resurrect it.

You can't really blame the studio for wanting to avoid calling the movie Saw 8, but the fact that the movie takes place a decade after Jigsaw's death and largely seems to revolve around a new set of characters, with Cary Elwes' Dr. Gordon reportedly having no involvement, makes it pretty clear this is getting the soft reboot treatment.

Even though Tobin Bell's Jigsaw will appear, presumably in flashbacks, expect few concrete links to prior plot points considering the time that has passed, and Lionsgate likely wanting to sell the franchise to a new generation of gorehounds who were too young to watch the original movies.
