4. It Gets A Happier Ending - Speak No Evil

2022's horror-thriller Speak No Evil was a considerable hit on streaming, enough that it was just a matter of time before it got the big theatrical Hollywood remake treatment.

And indeed, said remake is due out later this year, with James McAvoy, Aisling Franciosi, Scoot McNairy, and Mackenzie Davis playing two couples whose holiday together quickly takes a nasty turn.

The original film sticks true to its grim vision all the way through to its unforgettably bleak climax, the particulars of which we won't spoil here.

But safe to say, American horror remakes being what they are, many are expecting this new take to make a sharp left-turn from the original ending and deliver something a little more crowd-pleasing.

It's tough to imagine the original ending going down well with popcorn-gobbling audiences looking for some gnarly thrills on a Friday night, and so if Blumhouse wants to make serious money with the film's delicious premise, they're probably going to deviate from the original's deflating - if brilliant - conclusion.
