10 Upcoming Movies Destined To Bomb At The Box Office
3. Mario
If ever there was a gaming franchise that didn't need a movie, it would surely be Mario, a fun, big-hearted adventure series that (as the previous, disastrous 1993 flop proved) doesn't translate well on the big screen.
The greatest issue holding Mario back at this time, though, is the controversy surrounding Chris Pratt landing the role as the eponymous plumber, a bizarre and surely ill-fated casting decision that's overshadowed the rest of the film's production.
From the casting decisions to the fact previous Mario films have been far from all-timers, Mario seems like an ill-advised attempt at yet another Hollywood cash-grab, only this time people have already made their mind up about avoiding it at all costs. Which, let's face it, will probably be for the best.
