10 Upcoming Movies Destined To Piss Off Fans
1. Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker
Star Wars just seems destined to piss fans off with every entry. The movies still get an insane box office, but they’re always met with bile online from various corners, sometimes even from their own cast.
Whether because the newer cast haven’t won over fans of the old guard, the prequel movies have left fans once bitten and twice shy or because of more comedic elements being added, it seems like Star Wars fans are impossible to please. Given just how many of them they are and how many generations they span, that shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Regardless of where you stand, there’s no denying that the title is a little silly. Seven of the eight movies so far have featured a Skywalker heavily (The Force Awakens being the exception), so to call the final chapter The Rise Of Skywalker doesn’t make much sense.
It could have some deeper, symbolic meaning, but for now it definitely has fans divided. The fact this was supposed to be Leia’s movie (with TFA as Hans’ and The Last Jedi as Luke’s) poses issues too, given her untimely death.
Regardless of how this performs, some Star Wars fans are just destined to be pissed off.
