10 Upcoming Movies NOBODY Actually Wants To See

5. Tomb Raider 2

Very much like the recent Tomb Raider video games, the 2018 movie underwhelmed despite boasting an impressive cast made up of names like Alicia Vikander and Walton Goggins. It was still a minor box office hit, though, because even with only $58.3 million domestically, it earned a solid $216.4 million overseas on a modest $94 million budget.

Warner Bros. has bizarrely zeroed in on Free Fire director Ben Wheatley to take the helm of the sequel, which remains dated for March 19th, 2021 (there's no way that's happening). Recently, Vikander indicated that she's anticipating returning to the franchise, but... why?

There are better properties she could be part of, and this rehash of the rebooted video game series is not one of them. Wheatley isn't a natural fit to do those justice on the big screen, and with it unlikely Warner Bros. will want to spend a tonne of money on a follow-up, embracing the supernatural side of Lara Croft's adventures is unlikely to happen.

There's no real demand for another Tomb Raider movie, and a third reboot might be a better option a few years from now, possibly on television rather than in cinemas.
