4. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Release: 4 April 2014)
There are people that certain countries very deeply about because of the emotion they inspire within fellow countrymen. There's Gandhi in India, The Beatles in England and dragons in China. Americans feel the same level of emotion towards wimp-turned-hero Captain America. He was the World War II hero that the country never had, so the pride Americans feel towards him comes as expected. Objectively, there have been superheroes who have been more superheroey (The Hulk, Superman, Thor, Iron Man, all the X-Men, etc.), but a large number of hard-line Americans ardently maintain that Captain America is indeed the man of their dreams. I'm no one to burst that bubble. If a nation loves a hero and movies based on that hero, I would do nothing to suggest au contraire, more out of self-preservation than anything else. The second flick has Scarlett Johansson starring as Black Widow; and we're all aware of the effect that had on testosterone charged men while they watched The Avengers. Then there's also the superhero aficionado who'll watch anything that promises to save the world from annihilation. And there's a nation that's as possessive about the Captain as an overzealous girlfriend.
