7. Idris Elba - Beasts Of No Nation

After a great career on British television, Idris Elba has already appeared in a number of big budget Hollywood movies including Prometheus and Pacific Rim, but he's yet to strike the big time with a major leading role of his own. While his role in the Marvel universe has been relatively limited so far in the franchise, appearing as Heimdall in the Thor movies and Avengers: Age Of Ultron, his upcoming film Beasts Of No Nation could see him picking up a host of awards. Directed by Cary Fukunaga (of True Detective fame) it tells of a family in West Africa torn apart by the barbarity of civil war. Beasts Of No Nation sounds like a scenario tailor made for Idris Elba. Who knows? In a few years time he may end up taking on the role many have suggested he'd be perfect for: James Bond.
