5. Prometheus 2

Prometheus has been labelled one of the most disappointing films of all time. Although really calling it that is like saying Back To The Future sucks because it didn't end on a nuclear testing facility. Or bemoaning Empire Strikes Back for making Vader Luke's father. You see, Ridley Scott was incredibly open about the production of the first film, updating fans whenever things changed. And while that sounds like he's very in touch with the modern age, all it did was confuse people. At first Prometheus was straight-up Alien prequel, then it became two films that would be shot back-to-back, then it slowly became the movie we got, with an mythology overlapping with the horror classic and little more. Of course by that point people had latched onto the original concept and attempts to cool the hype by emphasising the film had "Alien's DNA" (i.e. it is not an Alien movie) did nothing to help. If, however, you avoided all of that and judged the film on its own merits it was good piece of sci-fi fun. And the sequel, which is currently forming, although with an unannounced release date, will no doubt suffer the same fate; read the spoilers and hate it, avoid the spoilers and love it.
