10 Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed
8. Rush Hour 4
Considering that Rush Hour 3 was savaged by critics and grossed considerably less than the second film, it seemed like a pretty natural stopping point for the series.
And while Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker have both periodically talked up a fourth film over the last 20 years, it seemed like one of those vaporware sequels that would never actually get made, especially with the duo being so much older now.
Yet Rush Hour 4 was confirmed just recently with Brett Ratner - who helmed all three previous films - returning to direct.
This alone is enough to turn off many given that Ratner has been accused of sexual misconduct and harassment by numerous actors, including Olivia Munn, Natasha Henstridge, and Elliot Page.
Then there's the fact that Rush Hour 4 was apparently given the green light after intense lobbying by President Donald Trump, and considering that Ratner has directed an upcoming documentary about Trump's wife Melania, it's easy to see how the gross puzzle pieces have come together.
A new Rush Hour movie that moved on from Ratner and allowed a new voice to take on the franchise could've been just fine, but this? You can keep it.
And even if Rush Hour 4 is still somehow good, the discourse surrounding its production and release will be so deafening as to overshadow the content of the movie itself.
