10 Upcoming Movies That Have Just Been Delayed

4. The Bride!

In 2017, Tom Cruise's The Mummy was supposed to kick off Universal's Dark Universe, which would ultimately bring together the likes of The Invisible Man, Wolf Man, and more, connected by Russel Crowe's Dr. Jekyll. However, the movie flopped so hard that the entire shared universe was cancelled at the very first hurdle.

This doesn't mean that there isn't a call for movies based around such monsters; quite the opposite. The Bride!, Maggie Gyllenhaal's take on The Bride of Frankenstein is hugely anticipated, though the wait has just gotten even longer.

There's a lot to be intrigued about with this film, from the adaptation of the source material, Maggie Gyllenhaal directing both her brother, Jake, and her husband, Peter Skarsgaard, and Christian Bale portraying Frankenstein's Monster (although the initial image does bring to mind the likes of Jared Leto's Joker and Bill Skargård's Eric Draven). All this without mentioning that the film will have aspects of a musical, with singing and dancing that hopefully won't be too reminiscent of Joker: Folie à Deux.

Originally set to release in September 2025, The Bride! has been delayed until March 2026, meaning that it will now release after Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein drops on Netflix, which from the looks of the trailer alone, will be a hard act to follow.
