8. Michael Keaton's Role May Be Diminished After Batgirl And Affleck's Aquaman Return - The Flash

At the turn of the year, it very much felt as though Michael Keaton was set to become one of the unexpected new central figures when it came to the DCEU's latest chapter of chaos.

But fast forward to November, and it now seems as though all talk of "getting nuts" for the foreseeable has been quietly swept under the Warner Bros. Discovery carpet.

There was a moment when Keaton's version of The Caped Crusader was set to strut his Bat-stuff in not one but three upcoming DCEU projects in the coming years. But the all-round scrapping of Batgirl earlier this year seems to have acted as the first hint at Keaton's elder-statesman figure being dialled back a touch going forward.

While Keaton does still appear to be set to make his long-awaited Bat comeback in next year's long-anticipated The Flash flick, recent news of his reported cameo in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom confusing test audiences and Ben Affleck subsequently being brought back into the mix as Bruce Wayne again seem to suggest that the original Keaton plan may have been scrapped altogether.

And even the star himself hasn't a clue when he'll be popping up in the cape and cowl next. What a mess.
