Jumping back before the pair even collaborated on last year's Don't Look Up, Jennifer Lawrence and Adam McKay agreed to bring the tale of disgraced Theranos entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes to life in a feature by the name of Bad Blood in 2016.

And plans still seemed to be in place to eventually produce the feature as recently as January this year, with the director-producer revealing that his leading lady and fellow producer on the flick had been perfecting her Holmes voice for the role.

However, the releasing of Hulu's recent The Dropout series, starring Amanda Seyfried as Elizabeth Holmes, soon left the film six-years in the making feeling a little, well, pointless.

That's how Lawrence herself felt, at least, with the Oscar-winning sensation noting to New York Times that upon taking in Seyfried's work in the recent small-screen tale, along with thinking she was "terrific", the star would also explain:

"I was like, 'Yeah, we don't need to redo that.' She did it."

And just like that, Lawrence departed Bad Blood, with it still not being clear at this moment in time whether the McKay-directed feature will go ahead with a new star, or if Apple Studios will simply pull the plug on the concept.
