10 Upcoming Movies That Might Already Be Doomed

James Wan's new horror film Malignant is currently set for a simultaneous release in both cinemas and on HBO Max on September 10, and the particulars of the narrative have been kept curiously under wraps ever since it completed shooting in December 2019.

The Annabelle Wallis-starring horror will reportedly be an homage to classic giallo films such as Suspiria, though beyond that concrete plot information is incredibly scarce.

There are however insider rumblings that the film test-screened disastrously in early 2020, though there haven't been any public reports of the film undergoing reshoots.

While it's easy to imagine a giallo homage turning off more casual audiences, it's also possible that Wan's bold decision to break away from a more conventional, rollercoaster ride-type horror film has backfired spectacularly.

The fact we're less than five months from release without anything more than a single image of the movie - let alone an official synopsis - is definitely eyebrow-raising.
