10 Upcoming Movies That Will Change Your Mind About Actors You Hate

4. The Peanut Butter Falcon - Shia Labeouf

For a long time, it's felt like Shia Labeouf has been more invested in creating controversy than art, but it's a little unfortunate that his attempts to speak out against political tyranny have turned him into a figure of scorn. Just because he was in Transformers doesn't mean he deserves such flippant disrespect.

But then he did consciously court it a little with some misplaced "stunts" a few years ago, and he has been something of a beacon for police attention too. All of that has fed into an image that overlooks the fact that he's actually capable of great performances.

Hopefully, audiences will be convinced that there's a good guy (and a good actor at the same time) when good-hearted wrestling picture The Peanut Butter Falcon comes out next year. Labeouf plays a small-time crook who ends up becoming the wrestling coach of Zak, a young man with Down syndrome, who runs away to pursue his dream of becoming a professional wrestler.

It's the kind of feel-good thing that could well reinvent him entirely.
