10 Upcoming Movies That Will Change Your Mind About Actors
4. Rock The Kasbah - Bruce Willis (Or Bill Murray)
If only Bruce Willis would work more with Bill Murray. Moonrise Kingdom was glorious and so was Willis, but most of what he's done since has been garbage.
He has a big opportunity with this odd-sounding culture clash comedy that sees a music manager trying to rekindle his career by guiding an Afghan singer through their version of American Idol. Sounds awful, but the pedigree of the cast is massive, so that's a good sign at least.
If it works, expect a similar rise in good feeling towards Bruce Willis - just as there was after Moonrise Kingdom - if it doesn't, expect a backlash against Murray. Particularly since he flat out refuses to make a Ghostbusters film.
Will It Last?
Bruce Willis will always get work: all it takes is a "yes". Unfortunately, for every good little comedy he makes, he'll then sign on to the likes of Vice, Wake and Extraction (from the action bargain basement where one word titles are a sure-fire sign of sludge). So any changes of feeling towards him will probably be temporary.
Murray, meanwhile is critic and audience proof: he'd bounce back no matter what. And he probably doesn't care any more anyway.
