10 Upcoming Movies That Will (Probably) Tease Cinematic Universes

Three John Wick films have already passed, each more daring, brilliant, and financially successful than the last. And yet, none of these films have hinted much to an expansion of the franchise. While there was discussion of a spin-off series based around the infamous Continental Hotel, which is featured prominently in the series as a safety hive for hit-men and assassins, news of it has gone suspiciously quite in recent months.

So if the previous entries haven't teased anything, why should the fourth one? Simply because it is bound to happen eventually. Since 2017, a spin-off film - titled The Ballerina - has been in development and is no doubt being kept in a steady fashion with John Wick's steady success.

Furthermore, the series is attracting a larger range of actors, with Halle Berry Laurence Fishburne already making appearances. This will inevitably draw other established actors into the franchise, and a more recognisable name would be greatly beneficial for Summit Entertainment to launch a larger shared universe.

Additionally, David Leitch, who co-directed the first John Wick, has expressed interest in producing a crossover between the franchise and his other action flick, Atomic Blonde. With the right story in place, combining the two series in a single shared universe would create a force to be reckoned with.
