10 Upcoming Movies-Turned-TV Shows To Watch After Westworld

3. The Lost Boys

Cruel Intentions
Warner Bros.

The Film

An instant cult classic on its release in 1987. The darkly comic tale of two brothers’ discovery that the town to which they’ve recently moved is populated by perma-teen vampires, led by a peroxide-blonde, devilish Kiefer Sutherland. Funny, scary and chock full of 80s tropes, from killer soundtrack and a hero as hunky as he is riddled with angst (Jason Patric).

Not to mention the requisite number of Coreys (Feldman and Haim).

The TV Show

Focusing on the idea of the immortal vamps living their days as eternal teenagers (like the Lost Boys from Peter Pan- see?) the TV version is reportedly set for a seven-season anthology. With each season finding the bloodsuckers ensconced in a different decade – starting with a 1967 Summer of Love San Francisco setting.

Will It Work?

The recent success of Stranger Things suggests that there is an appetite for some 80s-laced retro-thrills. And I do love the premise of everlasting teenagers, cropping up throughout the ages.
