10 Upcoming Movies Which Are Already Doomed

1. Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol

Though we're going to see new adaptations of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol until the heat death of the universe, they don't get much weirder than the upcoming Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol.

For one, this new take will star Johnny Depp as Scrooge, and while Depp's casting in such an iconic role might've roused some genuine excitement 10 or 15 years ago, between his major career downslide in recent years and well-trod legal issues, the prospect of a Depp Scrooge just sounds exhausting.

It gets even weirder from there, though, as the film is being directed by Ti West of all people, best known for his throwback horror pictures, namely the X trilogy. Even accepting the unsettling elements of Dickens' tale, West is such a peculiar choice to helm this, and one who'll need to do a whole lot of legwork to convince folk it makes sense.

Either way, it'd be a genuine shocker if this was either a critical or commercial success when it releases this November.
