Thomas Vinterberg's new film Another Round follows four male high school teachers who partake in a social experiment, to test the theory that humans weren't born with enough alcohol in their blood.
The men seek to consume enough alcohol to ensure their blood-alcohol content is 0.05% at all times.
Though at first the men see major improvements in their personal and professional lives, their desire to raise the barrier and increase their drinking has predictably disastrous results.
What a hook for a movie. Beyond the ever-reliable Vinterberg directing, the film stars Mads Mikkelsen as protagonist Martin, and from early festival reviews so far, it seems to deliver on the tragi-comic potential of its premise.
Given that alcohol consumption has surged around the world this year for obvious reasons, it's safe to say that such subject matter just might touch a nerve with audiences.
