6. The Comeback Trail
A remake of the little-known 1982 comedy movie of the same name, The Comeback Trail stars Robert De Niro as a shady film producer indebted to the mob who plots to have the ageing star of his new movie (Tommy Lee Jones) die on-set, allowing him to collect a sizable insurance payout.
Though a plot this ridiculous is all about the execution, the fact that director George Gallo has managed to rope in not only De Niro and Jones but also Morgan Freeman alongside the supporting likes of Zach Braff and Emile Hirsch suggests the script has plenty going for it.
The trailer certainly indicates it's swinging for the fences with its off-the-wall comedy, and should hopefully make an entertaining screwball farce out of its deeply inspired premise.
