10 Upcoming Movies With Insane Concepts

1. Guns Akimbo

Guns Akimbo Daniel Radcliffe
Madman Films

This may or may not be the case, but ever since the Harry Potter film series ended in 2011, it seems as though Daniel Radcliffe has been doing everything in his power to escape the shadow of his most famous character, from period horror flicks like The Woman In Black to the indie wackiness of the aforementioned Swiss Army Man.

But Guns Akimbo might just be the most "out-there" thing he's ever done. The movie is set in a world where a dangerous gang hosts a Hunger Games-style competition, in which total strangers must fight to the death while people watch the action over the internet. Sounds pretty straightforward, right? Except it's not, because Radcliffe's character spends the entire movie with guns bolted to his hands.

Imagine if Edward Scissorhands was inflicted with firearms instead of blades, and add a smattering of blood and gore on top: the movie is being marketed as part comedy (the trailer shows Radcliffe trying to open doors and pull on his pants, with not much success) but it's also hyper-violent, with tons of stylish shootouts, vehicle chases and explosions.

Frankly, it looks absolutely deranged - in a good way - but here's hoping the joke doesn't get too old too fast.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
