Mark Wahlberg is one of the most hit-and-miss actors out there when it comes to the quality of his movies. For every gem like Instant Family or Pain & Gain, there's an absolute travesty like Transformers: The Last Knight or Mile 22. But let's try and stay positive here, shall we?

Later in the year, Marky Mark will appear in Infinite - a generic and nondescript title, sure, but a movie that has a lot of promise. It centres on the Cognomina, a group of people who continually cycle through different bodies. Crucially though, they have complete total recall of all their past selves, able to remember all of their previous lives in the same way that we remember our childhood birthday parties.

It sounds like a fascinating idea, even though it could potentially get lost within the explosions and shootouts that an August blockbuster will need to deliver. Conversely, with Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer) at the helm, Infinite could easily be a smart and inventive action-thriller that plays trippy mind games with the audience about the Cognomina's memories - are they real, or are they just delusions?

Even if things are more straightforward than that though, we all get those odd feelings of déjà vu every now and then, and it's going to be interesting to see how Fuqua decides to portray that visually.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
