10 Upcoming Movies With TERRIBLE CGI

Jason Statham's upcoming collaboration with David Ayer, The Beekeeper, looks like a pretty down-the-line action flick that at least doesn't rely on a ton of VFX work, but what little we see in the trailer doesn't look good at all.

If Avatar: The Way of Water proved that Hollywood has absolutely perfected CGI water, they're still a little ways away from nailing digital fire, as the various explosions throughout this trailer confirm.

There's one especially dodgy explosion mid-way through the trailer when Statham's protagonist appears to detonate a bomb inside a large office building, the end result looking like a naff Adobe After Effects plug-in any punter could buy from a VFX library for £10.

Remember when Hollywood actually blew things up for real? But of course, beyond the obvious safety concerns, that's decidedly more expensive and production-intensive.

This shot is made worse by the fact that a ton of obnoxious digital camera shake has been added to it, presumably to try and disguise how low-rent the effects actually look.
