10 Upcoming Movies With TERRIBLE CGI

6. The Marvels

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been dinged over the inconsistent quality of its VFX output for many years now, which in conjunction with effects artists speaking out about the tight deadlines imposed upon them on MCU projects, suggests that something desperately needs to change.

Yet the franchise conveyor-belt never stops, and the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels suggests fans are going to have plenty more to complain about on the CGI front.

The movie itself looks fine enough, but the VFX? The same tired, overly grey, blurry sludge that's been haranguing far too many MCU films as of late.

There are dodgy CGI cats - though thankfully not quite on the horrendous level of Argylle - but the worst shot? Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) flying through space with painfully obvious green screen compositing.

Of course, there's no way to execute this shot for real, but the feather of light around Carol just makes it look incredibly cheap, and has drawn comparisons on social media to that infamous shot from Jaws: The Revenge.
