10 Upcoming Movies You Didn't Know Were Based On Books

6. The Moon And The Sun

Directed by Sean McNamara (who has spent the sum of his career turning out some of the most awful schlock to have ever made it to the big screen, including the "Bratz" movie), The Moon And The Sun comes to cinemas in 2015 as an adaptation of - would you have guessed it? - a novel of the same name, written by the likes of Vonda N. McIntyre. Best described as a cross between sci-fi, fantasy and historical fiction, The Moon and the Sun hit the bestseller list in 1997 and told the story of King Louis XIV and his quest for immortality. The movie version has Pierce Brosnan as King Louis, whilst Kaya Scodelario, Benjamin Walker and William Hurt round out the rest of the cast in what is bound to be a downright nutty movie. Given McNamara's credentials, though, don't hold out any hope that this will actually be any good. A shame, really, given that the novel itself is rather brilliant and unique in its rather insane conceit.
