The Pitch: A possessed pair of jeans starts killing off the staff members of a trendy clothing store, forcing plucky sales clerk Libby (Romane Denis) to put a stop to its murderous rampage.

Slaxx's hilariously bonkers premise proves immediately reminiscent of Quentin Dupieux’s masterfully barmy 2010 comedy-horror Rubber, which saw a sentient tire using its psionic abilities to kill the citizens of a remote desert town.

And while it seems like Slaxx is taking a broader and less-surreal approach to its concept, it still gives off a pretty demented vibe in its own right. No word yet on how exactly the jeans kill their victims, but hopefully it'll be imaginatively grotesque.

Filming took place earlier this year under indie filmmaker Elza Kephart (Go in the Wilderness), with a release tentatively planned for later in the year.
