After the shock commercial success of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and its recent sequel, The Twisted Childhood Universe is now in full swing, with the third entry into the public domain-supported fairy-tale slasher franchise being an unhinged reimagining of Peter Pan.
Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare revolves around Wendy Darling (Megan Placito) as she embarks on a quest to rescue her brother Michael (Peter DeSouza-Feighoney) from villains Peter Pan (Martin Portlock) and Tinker Bell (Kit Green), because why the hell not?
If you thought this prospective franchise might rise and fall in record time as the Internet's passing interest in it evaporated, it certainly seems like that won't be the case - at least not quite yet.
We're going to keep getting these movies for a good while, with the likes of Bambi: The Reckoning, Pinocchio: Unstrung, Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, and a third Winnie-the-Pooh film all currently in various stages of development. Be afraid, be very afraid.
