10 Upcoming Movies You Won't Believe Are Real
7. Y2K
So, now that we're getting nostalgic period movies about the turn of the millennium, there's only one question to ask - do you feel old yet?
Kyle Mooney's horror-comedy Y2K takes place on New Year's Eve 1999 and imagines an alternate reality in which the much-feared "Y2K problem" comes to fruition in the most extreme way possible, with technology springing to life and violently turning against humanity.
This forces a group of high schoolers (Jaeden Martell, Julian Dennison and Rachel Zegler) to band together to take them on.
The absolutely wild trailer basically sells Y2K as an unwieldy mix of Superbad, This is the End, and Small Soldiers - a combo you probably never expected, and yet, this actually looks pretty damn fun.
And if this somehow isn't weird enough for you yet, Fred Durst will also appear in the film, and better yet, he's actually playing a fictionalised version of himself.
