10 Upcoming Remakes That Could Be Better Than The Original

9. Pet Sematary

Stephen King has had a pretty awful time of it when it comes to cinematic adaptations of his source material - more often than not the results leave a lot to be desired, falling well short of the tension and scares he achieves in literature. Pet Sematary might not be his greatest novel, but the movie version of it released in the late '80s is a textbook example of how not to pull it off, not least in the laughable effects for the dead pets as they rise up from their graves. It certainly says something when the only positive reviews come from niche horror publications desperate to find something good in an all-round bad movie. The upcoming remake doesn't exactly feature a list of the best and the brightest on its crew (the writer of 1408 and the producer of G.I. Joe are currently involved), but with George Clooney possibly set to star they'd have to go out of their way to deliberately make a worse film than the one currently available.

Andrew Dilks hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
