10 Upcoming Remakes That Could Be Better Than The Original

3. Weird Science

Weird Science may well fall into the category of lesser John Hughes movies but it still has plenty of fans to this day, not least those adult males who grew up experiencing their first pangs of sexual desire at the sight of Kelly LeBrock emerging scantily clad from the machine for the first time. It's questionable as to whether or not such a seemingly misogynistic film is at all relevant in this gender equality age we live in, but perhaps this is precisely why a remake could be a good idea. Attitudes to women, beauty and the power of science to play God have all changed in the decades since Weird Science first came out, affording plenty of scope for a new approach to the concept. The fact that Joel Silver is returning as the producer and has stated his intention to bring it in line with the more recent run of R-rated comedies such as 21 Jump Street and The Hangover suggests that this could be a more raunchy and adult reimagining worth checking out.
