10 Upcoming Sequels Nobody Asked For (That Might Be Great)

Hollywood doesn't really make comedies like Twins any more. We either get moronic chicken feed like Holmes & Watson or charming indie comedies for the most part. And yet, the best comedies of the past few years have been more conventional comedies with slightly bonkers premises, like Game Night and Long Shot. Crucially, like Twins, they're still rooted firmly in likable characters. They just tend to be in the minority and you'd be forgiven for broadly claiming that comedy is not in its heyday on the big screen these days.

Precisely because it feels so much like something from the past, the idea of Hollywood going back to Twins to team up Danny DeVito and Arnie with a third sibling - played by Eddie Murphy (again) - feels like something that should have been imagined in about 1995 and left there. For it to be coming out in the near future (assuming it irons out the development issues holding it up for now) is a little odd.

But Danny DeVito is a comedy genius and his chemistry with Arnie is great. Add a hopefully resurgent Murphy to the pot and the bones of a really good comedy, which could explore ideas of ageing and mortality rather than just "and this one's black, how funny!!" Hopefully, anyway.
