10 Upcoming Sequels Which Could Actually Be Worth Your Time

3. Beetlejuice 2

Children of the 1980s probably took great pleasure in watching Michael Keaton struggling to cope with a post-blockbuster mid-life crisis in Birdman - the nods back to his days as a star of Tim Burton's Batman movies no doubt ignited a twinge of nostalgia. If any role from the Burton/Keaton era is capable of taking us back to the time of childhood movie memories more so than Batman, it is Beetlejuice. Here, Michael Keaton was truly in his element, delivering one of the most entertainingly anarchic performances of his career, while Burton was on fine form when it came to visualising strange and bizarre otherworlds. Winona Ryder confirmed earlier this year that Beetlejuice 2 is well and truly heading our way, and Tim Burton is back at the helm. Michael Keaton might be too old these days to climb back into the batsuit but perhaps this is a far more intriguing prospect. Anticipation factor: After the referential nature of Birdman reminded us of Keaton's glory days it would be wonderful if he went back to one of his earlier great roles - it could be a chance for Tim Burton to return to form, too.
