10 Utterly Absurd Comic Book Villains (That Could Be Great On Film)

3. Mojo

3 Mojo 3 Cropped Mojo is a parody of one of those most vile and grotesque creatures, the network executive. He is from an alien race called the "Spineless Ones" who are unable to move under their own strength. It is only using a special robotic platform that he is able to move. Mojo is the ruler of the Mojo World, a strange place where slaves are forced to fight for their lives for the amusement of those watching it on television. Mojo is aided in his never ending quest for viewer ratings by the sarcastic android Major Domo and the four-armed teleporter Spiral. Mojo's star performer was a genetically engineered humanoid with probability altering powers and a massive blonde mullet called Longshot. Longshot rebelled against Mojo and defected to the X-Men. This led to Mojo's obsession with the X-Men due to their potential as ratings gold. How could he possibly work in film? In order to include Mojo in a film, the film would need to break the fourth wall. There is one particular character in the Marvel catalogue that is renowned for breaking the fourth wall. It just so happens that the film rights to that character are owned by Fox, the same studio that owns the X-Men. That character is of course the "Merc with a Mouth" Deadpool. Bringing together Mojo and Deadpool isn't without precedent. In the Ultimate Marvel comics, Mojo hired Deadpool and his team to capture the X-Men. There has been talk of a Deadpool film ever since the introduction of the character in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. A very poor decision was made by the film producers to sew up the mouth of the Merc with a Mouth. If the executives at Fox are willing to acknowledge their own mistakes and even make fun of themselves by including Mojo in a Deadpool film, we could be up for a very fun, very funny and very faithful version of Deadpool. An opening sequence with the real Deadpool slaying the version from X-Men Origins: Wolverine would be a great way to kick off the irreverent film.
