10 Valentine's Horror Films That Will Make You Glad To Be Single

9. Valentine

I don't mind admitting it - Valentine is a terrible film. A terrible film that is absolutely wonderful to watch (and laugh). An obvious choice for this list, Valentine followed the usual route of a group of girls being stalked by someone, which they don't take very seriously, before getting brutally murdered one by one. Whilst it came under a lot of fire - its director, Jamie Blanks, has even asked for forgiveness for the film - Valentine was a solid contributor to the early-2000's slasher genre. Sure, fine, it's quite difficult to tell the girls being murdered apart, and whilst you can tell that there is a story and foreshadowing it's hard to pick out for some reason, but Valentine has some of the most satisfying deaths at the tail end of this trend. The opening scene in a hospital morgue is actually pretty frightening, and cranks up the suspense as our cupid-masked killer stabs indiscriminately into body bags where one of our heroines is hiding. Our killer utilises a bow and arrow - something moderately unusual and very enjoyable - to dispatch one of the girls, and let's be honest (we're among friends and also, SPOILER!) who hasn't wanted to watch Denise Richards get electrocuted in a hot tub? It's also worth mentioning that David Boreanaz is in it, and only a fool wouldn't like looking at that face. Valentine may not be the best film on this list, or the scariest, but it's a fine watch if there's nothing else on.

Fan of Taylor Swift and the Dead Kennedys (a duet I can only dream of). I like dystopias, slasher films, and video games that make me feel things.
