10 Vampire Movies That Put Twilight To Shame

4. Martin

Believe it or not, despite crafting horror classics like Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, director George A. Romero often cites Martin as his favourite of all his films, and while certainly not as iconc as his inimitable zombie films, there's no denying the similar visceral thrill and smart social satire of this outstanding vampire film. Martin depicts the travails of the titular protagonist, a young man who believes that he is a vampire despite having no fangs nor displaying any of the typical characteristics one would expect of a vampire. This doesn't stop him going about draining blood from suburban housewives, paving the way for some superb social satire on the middle class that ties in perfectly with Romero's subsequent consumerist satire in Dawn of the Dead. A regrettably underrated classic because everyone's too busy remembering Romero simply for his zombie films, Martin is a sheer gem of a film.
