10 Video Game Movies Better Than Warcraft

Now, it's hard to deny that either of the Tomb Raider movies to date had anything approaching a compelling plot, but they did deliver some fun action, and had one major secret weapon: Angelina freaking Jolie.

Jolie's Croft is the first female protagonist of a video game movie and, no matter the film's many faults, her performance was highly memorable in terms of a high-profile actress taking the source material seriously and actually delivering on its promise.

Even 15 years later, there still hasn't been a single piece of video game movie casting that's as spot-on or as successful as this.

Why It's Better Than Warcraft: For starters, it focuses on being fun, whereas Warcraft forsakes entertainment in favour of leaden dialogues and shockingly uninspired action sequences.

Then there's the fact that Jolie is so perfect in Tomb Raider, whereas the majority of the performances in Warcraft are stunningly bland and even outright terrible on occasion.
