10 Video Game Movies That Were Truly Terrible

8. Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life (2003)

The sequel to a generally pleasing Lara Croft film saw Angelina Jolie return with even more swagger. In fact, a huge marketing campaign teamed up with Korn for the soundtrack to promote this film. Yet it all fell flat and it seems that this film may have been released at the wrong time.

At the very least, it was released feeling dated.

Not only were Korn past their peak and falling down the charts fast, but the Tomb Raider series was already beginning to see a decline. While this sequel isn't significantly worse than the first entry, the excitement around the character had dwindled. Furthermore, the original Tomb Raider film hadn't won over naysayers and it seems that audiences could not muster any more excitement for a scantily clad Lara Croft again.

The film only managed to gross 90 million dollars world with against a budget of 160 million and this iteration of the franchise was quickly put to rest. With that said, the series as a whole has seen a resurgence and fans of Lara Croft are currently enjoying a new cinematic franchise which stars Alicia Vikander.
