10 Villains Perfect For The Batman Movie Trilogy (And Who Should Play Them)
8. Mr. Bloom - Doug Jones
Mr. Bloom is a villain much like the Joker, his name and origin are unknown and he causes death and destruction wherever he goes. However, in many ways Bloom is scarier than Joker, for one he has no face, simply a flower head.
He can stretch all his limbs in gruesomely horrifying ways and uses them to petrifying effect by piercing heads and bodies with his spindly fingers. Joker, though being a terrifying mystery himself, is quite clearly a human being, but the same can’t quite be said for Bloom.
Designed like something from a creepypasta, Mr. Bloom is a villain that would be a sure fire way to get a Batman film a 15 rating. It’s a villain like Bloom that would set the Pattinson films apart by making them a place for the supernatural horror that is often seen throughout much of Batman canon but never in the cinema.
As you never see Mr. Bloom's face, you’d only really need a good voice to play him. To get a true sense of terror for the audience though, a real Mr. Bloom would be the best course of action, not just a CGI character dumped onto the screen.
Doug Jones is sadly a bit of a creepy shape and is often used to play monsters that are larger than life (like in Hellboy, The Bye Bye Man or The Shape Of Water) and Mr. Bloom is no different. The Pale Man from Pan’s Labyrinth is the perfect template for what Bloom should be like in a gothic supernatural Batman horror.
