10 Villains Who Need To Appear In The MCU

7. MODOK

It seems unlikely that MODOK will ever grace a cinema screen, at least in any major role. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see him/it show up as a bit-player, cameo or reference in an upcoming Marvel film.

It doesn’t take a Charles Xavier to work out why adapting MODOK for the movies is so hard, just look at him. He’s a big face with tiny arms that rides around in a hover chair – hardly the kind of villain that strikes fear into the hearts of cinema-goers. His name alone – Mechanized Organism Designed Only For Killing – would take some explaining, and a couple of sly quips and nods to the camera probably wouldn’t cut it.

Still, a lot of bizarre things can happen in the MCU, particularly with regards to The Guardians of the Galaxy or Doctor Strange, characters that are used to dealing with the more esoteric side of super-villainy. As a futuristic arms dealer and victim of genetic experimentation, the former George Tarleton certainly falls into that camp.

Although some fans might balk at the prospect of MODOK being reduced to a one-note joke, a Howard the Duck-esque punchline is probably the best we can hope for.
