9. Daybreakers
This may be difficult for some of our younger readers to believe, but there was actually a time when vampires were cool. Twilight may have put an abrupt end to this, but there was one film that attempted to reignite their cool reputation in the midst of those awful, awful movies releasing. That film was Daybreakers.
The premise for Daybreakers is an interesting one. In this world, the majority of the human race have now become vampires and, as such, there’s a shortage of blood for them to feed on. They’ve been greedy in the past, so now their resources are running dangerously low and alternative means of sustenance are drastically required. (Sound familiar?)
As you can imagine, the remaining survivors of the vampirism outbreak don’t particularly fancy becoming food banks for this edgy goth community, and therefore are trying to avoid them at all costs. The vampiric population now face a tough choice: try and drain the last drop of blood from a dwindling supply of fresh humans, or try and find a cure for the curse they’re plagued with. Neither option is going to end comfortably.
The lesson to be learned here? For the love of god, use your toilet paper sparingly.
