1. "Deadpool" - X-Men Origins: Wolverine
And yet no comic book character has been as horrendously ill-depicted as Deadpool in Gavin Hood's dire X-Men Origins: Wolverine, best remembered for introducing us to the character as played by Ryan Reynolds, before having him disappear out of the movie and reappear as the so-called Weapon-X, a bald, shirtless guy with his mouth sewed up who basically resembles Baraka from Mortal Kombat. So, they hired the guy everyone wanted to play Deadpool, the guy known for his motor mouth...and then...sewed the character's mouth shut? Deadpool is known in the comics as "The Merc with a Mouth" due to his quick-wit, so getting rid of his vocal capabilities altogether is pretty damn stupid. What follows is an uninvolving fight against Wolverine on Three Mile Island, which ends with Deadpool being decapitated, but before the credits roll, it's made clear that he's (somehow) still alive. A Deadpool spin-off was originally planned, but given how aggressively the character was butchered, consider that one
very unlikely. Which underwhelming comic book moments annoyed you the most? Let us know in the comments below.
