10 Watered Down Comic Book Movie Moments That Robbed Us Of Awesomeness

2. Bane - Batman & Robin

Batman And Robin Here's a movie that's a categorical failure from start to finish, but the most egregious, offensive element of Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin has to be the dismissive depiction of one of Batman's best-loved foes, Bane. In the comics, Bane was a savagely intelligent tactician who just also happened to be a hulking brute, and while he certainly looks like a brute, he's reduced to nothing more than a muscle-bound grunt who barely speaks and ends up getting defeated by...Robin and Batgirl. Schumacher single-handedly ruined the character until Christopher Nolan stepped in and dared to take a stab at him in The Dark Knight Rises, with Tom Hardy delivering an iconic and unforgettable performance that was far more in line with the comics.
