7. Dredd Removes His Helmet - Judge Dredd
There's a laundry list of things you can criticise the Sylvester Stallone Judge Dredd movie for; there's Stallone's garbled delivery of the word "Law!", his inane shouting matches with Armand Assante, the casting of Rob Schneider as comic relief, and the generally disrespectful tone as far as the source material was concerned. There's one major thing the movie gets wrong, though, and it's that Dredd - who
never removes his helmet - ends up removing his helmet mere minutes into the film, because Hollywood just couldn't abide casting a famous actor and then covering his face for the entire movie. To prove just how wrong it was, you need look no further than last year's vastly superior take, the Karl Urban-starring Dredd. Though that film benefited from casting a lesser-known actor as the lead, it's still no excuse for betraying a classic tenet of a beloved comic. If you're not going to do it right, don't even bother.
